Missing

I have been away for so many weeks... cannot even.. but that's what happens when you work a full time job.

Been pretty busy looking up homes, coming up with a tat design.. meeting with people for the wedding... finding dates to hang out with friends. life is all good. feels so nice to have no homework :)

Recently watched Revolution. it was such an eye opener... i cant even describe how i felt into words.. i can only tell you guys that i've now seen it in theatres twice. now because of this documentary, i think i've become more frugal.

That two room+den townhouse i wanted before? now i'm looking for a 1 room condo. i only wanted two rooms because i didnt want to share with steven and i wanted extra decorating space .__.

a new computer i wanted before?...well why not just use what i have? if it's still functional i'm not gonna throw it away... creates too much waste..

those fancy shmancy shampoos and conditioners? forget it. i'm just gonna use biodegradable shampoos and soaps.

what about the makeup that i have that's not friendly? i'm just gonna use it. why throw it away and make waste? when it's all done, i'm only gonna buy eco-friendly makeup.

and those sushi dates where everyone goes all out and eats until we're too full? forget it. i'm only eating sustainably and only until i'm 80% full...

my diet now consists of mostly veggies, eggs, tofu, and very little meat. and unfried food. (but this was WAY before i watched the movie. OH YEEE!)

New goal in life: only use/eat/buy what i NEED, not what i WANT or how much i CAN.

And with that said, i'm off to go enjoy the sun until it goes down. :) till next time!

Jet lag, mermaids.. and more rambling

I went to Winnipeg for business on Thursday. so the previous night, i missed out on Eric's episode on My crazy obsession.

I'm conflicted.. i cant tell if i should be angry that now the whole community is getting negativity from people outside of the mer community.. or if i should be happy he got us attention. Either way i am pretty pissed off. 1) TLC didn't even say that he makes a business out of making and selling mermaid tails
2) they portrayed him to be some crazy guy who is over-obsessed with mermaids, and that he's obsessed because he's gay.

wtf. no logic.

And suddenly mermaids have hit a peak in popularity. so much that now i'm worried that when people see my tail (and a few other of my friend's tails), they're all gonna be like "oh you saw that guy on TLC didnt you, poser!" and now we're all gonna be labeled as posers. like shut the fuck up, we were mermaids BEFORE the world knew about Eric. *hipster*

There's also the issue of homophobic slander... a few of my friends are male, and the mermen community is getting slammed with plenty slurs. excuse me but sexual orientation has nothing to do with the hobby. you see a cute muscular guy in a tail or an old man in a tail and u automatically assume they're gay because of a tail? whether if they are or are not, it's irrelevant. thats like saying "i like wrestling and building stuff because I'm lesbian"

wtf. no logic.

also, now teenage girls and older women who mermaid as a hobby and perform for aquariums/hotels get slammed with unwanted comments by "so called grown ups" like .."grow the fuck up, mermaids aren't real, haha loser"

YEAH, NO SHIT SHERLOCK! it's funny because while they're telling US to grow up, they haven't fully grown up themselves. Really? they're the ones going "YOLO" and assuming that "YOLO" GIVES THEM A RIGHT TO DO STUPID SHIT LIKE SHOVING ALCOHOL SOAKED TAMPONS UP THEIR ASSES.

wtf. no logic.

Winnipeg was quite fun. aside from doing work. on my free day i went to the Manitoba museum of man and nature.

Seriously AH-MAZING IN THERE GUYS. i got to wander through a village and go into houses, i got to watch charlie Chaplin inside one of the village theatres... i got to be a CSI, i got to see my constellation/stars/space dreams come to life, i got to go on a FUCKING BOAT INSIDE THE MUSEUM! *pics are on twitter and Facebook*, i saw a dinosaur exhibit.. oh funny story i came so early in the morning like at 9:30 and the security guard was nice enough to let me in early so that i could see everything and then leave early to get back to work... which was coincidentally 5 minutes away!

ANYWAY. guys when you get the chance to go to Winnipeg, VISIT THIS PLACE. ITS AMAZING. much better than the ROM.

work,work work, blahblahblah.. and then i hit the hotel.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Omg his hotel has FREE complimentary BREAKFAST!  OMNOMNOM!!
also.. bathrooms are SO DAMN CLEAN! WOW!!!
AND IT HAD THE FOOD NETWORK!! ZOMGG~~ <3 and I GOT TO WATCH TOUCH ON FOX! was so intense omg. JAKE CAN TALK AND AMELIA IS NOW HIS ADOPTED SISTER ;__; HOW CUTE!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~
THEN i saw a few NYInk episodes... and i decided that I AM gonna get a tattoo. just... just have no idea what yet. (I KNOW, IF I GET IT ON THE BONE AREAS ITS PAINFUL. which is why i'm doing research still.)

I've been researching for an extremely long time.. like.. since last year? i want to go to a legitimate tattoo parlour and just hold an interview with an artist.

I know i want Something with 2 Dolphins, the sigil of Archangel Michael, maybe seashells...

I wanted a full back artwork of two dolphins rescuing a ship in a storm, rococo-stylized? but i don't have enough guts to pull off a full body tat.maybe after i marry and my dad doesn't see xD
i wanted a tribal dolphin tramp stamp... but.. then i'll look like a hooker. :|
i still want a classy black conch shell with music coming out behind my ear... (yeah i know its painful. despite that fact, I'm willing to go through the pain)

i dunno. i still gotta do some research.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Steven is cursed. this week alone, 3 debit machines and an airport security scanning machine broke.
first time was earlier this week when we went to Swiss chalet. machine was broken.
2nd time was when we ate out at the same place... machine ran out of batteries.
3rd time was yesterday, we went to earls and the machine broke.
and then today, the scanning machine for tickets broke when it got to his turn, but it worked perfectly fine for me. >_>
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

speaking of airport.. FLYING THERE WAS BRUTAL. plane was so compact... take off was fine.. Steven was clenching onto me for dear life. and we watched the food network... but i quickly got sick once we were descending...

the trip back i was fully prepared. with my iPod in my left hand getting ready to play the overture of PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, and my right hand clenching onto Steven's hand.

It was like i was the chandelier going up up UP into the sky ... and then descending i listened to phantom of the opera( both the original Michael Crawford/Sarah brightman version, and the Nightwish version) and it was like i was descending into the phantom's basement lair...

and now i am experiencing jet lag.. and extremely sleepy. GOODNIGHT WORLD will ramble about nonsense tomorrow!
